Balance bike Shmalance bike....

So just as I say that Aidan needs a balance bike to figure out riding his real bike he hops right on and rides away. Apparently he could do it this whole time... silly boy.

86 in Chicago in March?!?

Today was AMAZING. This never happens in Chicago - we are usually having snow in March, certainly not 80 degree weather! My niece, Kylie, is on spring break, so we took the boys and headed to Glenco Beach. The boys had so much fun - both crashed out immediately on the way home. Here are some fun pics from the day...

I've had a little extra time the past few days and have been a little crafty! I apologize in advance for the picture quality - I took these with my phone. Below is a gift I made for my mother-in-law. Each wood block has six pictures of each grandchild.

I made the one below for my mom. I used a three inch wood block for this one. Each side has a picture of her grandchildren.

I got my inspiration for these from Pinterest - I think I am slightly obsessed!

Super Girl!

Our niece, Vivienne, apparently loves to play dress up these days. Aidan used to run around in a cape (seriously, for about a year straight everywhere we went he had to wear his cape) and Vivi decided she wanted a super cape now too. I asked her what color and she said blue, so here is what I came up with:

Wendy is a really cool girl and a wonderful writer. She also has a very interesting story to tell. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. She and I met a few years ago through a mutual friend. She has a daughter whose personality always reminded me a lot of Aidan. I am hoping to photograph her soon with and without all those sassy scarves!

Happy birthday Katie!

It is my lil' sissy's birthday today! Happy birthday Katie!

How cute is she? Anyone who knows Katie knows how sweet and fun she is. But I wonder how many people know about her dark side? One of my favorite memories of Katie growing up was here halloween costume choices. She didn't just want to be a cheerleader like her friends...she had to be a dead, bloody cheerleader. She always came up with a dead or bloody version of something...it was hilarious.
She has a quirky sense of humor still and I LOVE it.

Love you so much Ball - I hope this is your best year yet!

Lil' Ninja....

How cute is this?  He hated everything about it.  We only finished 3 classes.  Maybe too young (5)?  Ugh.  He didn't like the teacher (she was awful) and he hated the uniform....we'll have to try again later I guess...
