Puerto Rico

Nathan and I had a chance to get out of town for a long weekend WITHOUT KIDS!!!! We had such a great time in Puerto Rico with our friends Wally & Jen. We packed a lot into the long weekend - swimming in the ocean, swimming in the pool, sleeping in, eating at wonderful restaurants, fishing, checking out the hot springs, rain forest, pork highway, cocktails, etc...you get the idea! Well, surprisingly I didn't have time to take a whole lot of pictures!

Below are just a few:

We went to Guavate to the Pork Highway - that deserves a post all on it's own...I'll post it soon.

We really had a great time - can't wait to do it again!

A day at the arboretum...

what amazing weather we have been having for October in Chicago! We spent Monday at the arboretum - it is so beautiful there. My adorable niece Kacie joined us!

That's what I get for asking Aidan to hug Lucas...

Such a fun place for the kids - definately check it out if you can.

Bathtub = 1....Lucas = 1/2 a tooth....

Poor baby slipped in the bathtub last night and cracked half his front tooth! It looks terrible - the tooth was already growing in crooked so I think that makes it looks worse...little man can't catch a break this week - fever, cough, and now down 1/2 a tooth...ugh.

Cyclocross...

So the past couple of weekends Nate has been doing his cyclocross racing...this past Sunday he came in 2nd place out of about 100 guys! He also took the leader jersey!

So proud. Hoping to check out his race in Beverly this weekend with the boys.

Balance.

I love a good, balanced day. My day yesterday was just one of those days. In the morning I had some me time. I am in a photography club that meets once a month - yesterday morning we headed up to Glencoe Beach to photograph the sunrise. AMAZING.

Nate and I then took the kids to the Midnight Circus (not really at midnight) - the Circus in the Parks. It was so cool and the kids loved it. It definately appeals to adults as well - so much fun. Definately go if you can! We got to reconnect with some friends we just don't see often enough - Joel, Sherri & Dario. We had so much fun - thanks for inviting us!

Then at night my niece, Kacie, babysat the boys so Nate could go out to dinner with friends.
We went to fin sushi bar in Ravenswood - so good!

We started out with the bacon wantons - never had bacon at a sushi place, but these were amazingly good - bacon, cream cheese and celery wrapped in a wanton.

The sashimi was so amazing -so creatively displayed too!

Love a balanced day - me time, kids time and hubby time. Ahh...bliss.
