Catching up...

So I had some computer issues and haven't been able to post in a while...here is an update on what we've been up to:

Prior to school starting we were excited to check off all our "To Do's" on our Summer Fun List.  Great America was on there - so Aidan and I went with our friends Nalani and Kai!  We had a blast!

 

Aidan was so brave - he went on some pretty big rollercoasters.  I hadn't been to Great America in years and wasn't sure I could stomach the coasters anymore - I am happy to say I survived!  I think taking him on the Eagle was the scariest moment for me.  He of course couldn't wait to do it again!

We went to the zoo with Auntie Katie and had a great time...Lucas was terrified of the underwater viewing of the dolphins/sea lions...

We spent lots of time going to the park and just enjoying the last days of summer...

 

and Aidan was excited and so ready for school to start...

An unwelcome house guest...

So Aidan told me to come to the back porch...there was "someone" stuck in the wall...well, a few days later (and Rick the Exterminator)...we evicted out house guest...

 

 Our little visitor was super cute - I actually felt bad for him!  

But he did a lot of damage...broken gutter and tore up the ceiling...glad we were able to catch him!

Summer Fun...

I have not been blogging much - I guess I've just been too busy enjoying this summer!  My boys are at such fun ages.  Below are some pics I took with my phone - that's how much fun we are having - I haven't even pulled out my "real" camera in a while!

We had some friends over swimming at Gaga's house and walked up to the ice cream store for a treat!

 We have been riding our bikes to the playground at Aidan's new school so he can get comfortable hanging out there - they recently did a wonderful renovation of the playground, basketball courts, a track and a turf field!

 I joke that below is my north side version of a mini van....

My baby is getting so big!  :-(  

 

We went to dinner with our friends, Wally and Jen, at a wonderful Mexican seafood place.  Turns out the seafood comes from an area of Mexico that Nate I have been to and love.  It was AMAZING.  The stuffed pinnapple looks kinda gross smothered in cheese, but underneath were scallops, octopus, and shrimp...it was so good! 

Aidan wanted a mowhawk this summer, so he got it.  May be time for a visit to Auntie Julie before school starts to clean this mess up! We signed Aidan up for day camp at the park by our house - he absolutely loves it.  It is M-F from 10-2.  It was really inexpensive so I don't mind when he misses days, but the days he does go he has a blast and has met a few new friends that will be at his school in the Fall.

 Lastly, Lucas has been a sleeping disaster.  I don't know what to do with him...he won't go to bed without me in the room and will cry for an hour if I let him (I don't...I know I may catch grief for this)...last night I let him fall asleep in my bed...he was so happy.  I think I am in trouble....
